IN THE KITCHEN (Sept 24) ...

We had another wonderful meeting, this time focusing on Nutrition. We kicked off the meeting with some great food provided by Emily's Table - THANK YOU SO MUCH!! The buzz around the room was for Jessica's Mom's Monkey Bread Recipe. So as a special treat for those of you who actually are keeping up with this blog....here's the recipe!!

Monkey Bread

Ingredients:
  • 3 tubes buttermilk biscuits (regular size biscuits, not the big ones)
  • cinnamon & sugar mixture
  • ½ Cup (1 stick) margarine or butter
  • 1 Cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  1. Grease a bundt or angel food pan.
  2. Separate biscuits and cut each one into fourths.
  3. Roll each piece in cinnamon & sugar mixture and evenly distribute the pieces in the pan.
  4. Heat the butter and brown sugar until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Pour butter and brown sugar mixture over the biscuit pieces in the pan.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
  7. Allow to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then turn the bread out on a plate.
  8. Slice or pull the pieces apart for serving.

We also played a few games including a taste-testing game...here are some photos from that fun game...
